Students from Department of Polymer Science and Engineering attended the 2019 Summer Exchange Program in Kyushu University, Japan

Led by two assistant researchers Qi Ai and Yunhui Zhu, 2 graduate students and 10 undergraduate students from the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering went to Japan to participate in the 2019 summer exchange program of Department of Polymer on August 18, solstice, 22. The program lasted for 5 days.

The main content of the project is to attend the 4th International Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF) Conference. The lecture hall of the conference is located in the research department of kyushu university. This meeting is mainly for the report link and the demonstration link. During the presentation, several industry experts and scholars presented their work in this field, including Professor Chihaya Adachi from KyKyu University, Professor Martin R. Bryce from Durham University, and Chief Scientist of OLED R&D Division of LG and Samsung. After each presentation, the guests actively asked questions, and discussed with the speakers the difficulties encountered in the work, the next work goals, etc. In the display section, the students of the project team made the wall newspaper display board and introduced the relevant situation to everyone in detail one by one.

In addition to the introduction of the development progress of new materials and the discussion of relevant mechanisms by professors from various universities and scientific research institutes, the combination of industry, education and research is also an important topic of this conference. From the perspective of enterprises, LG, Samsung and Huxing Optoelectronics pointed out some shortcomings in the application of OLED materials, especially TADF materials, and timely fed back to universities and other scientific research institutions.
