The Department of Polymer Science and Engineering and the University of Bayreuth has built friendship on research, teaching and industry innovation since 2015.

Personnel exchanging is quite frequent between them. 32 professors and students of Zhejiang University has visited the University of Bayreuth, and 28 professors and students of the University of Bayreuth has visited Zhejiang University.

As for research, comprehensive cooperation has been carried out on polymer syntheses, electrospun, stimulus response polymers, polymer colloid and hydrogel between the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering and the University of Bayreuth. Five cooperative papers has been published. Besides, China-Germany International Research Training Program will be applied.

When it comes to teaching, professors of the University of Bayreuth offered course named Progress in Polymer Science and Engineering for undergraduate students of ZJU. The course is popular among students.
